Hello world!

I’ve made three failed attempts at blogging before, so when I first considered blogging about my experiences with Type 1 diabetes I was hesitant. Nothing I’ve written about before was compelling enough to keep me writing on a regular basis.  Shortly after I was diagnosed with diabetes, however, I felt like I had to write and, with the encouragement of some friends, I decided to give blogging another chance.

So, hello world.

About Nel

As a graduate education student, I've come to the conclusion that teaching requires an addiction to caffeine. My favorite caffeinated beverages are coffee, tea, and diet Coke. And when I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in January 2012, I also came to the conclusion that living requires insulin. I blog about my busy life juggling graduate education courses, a teaching assistantship in my University's English department, and my recent type 1 diabetes diagnosis the The Clumsy Juggler. I do not live in New York City.

    • Thanks, Melissa! Meters look so much friendlier with eyes–you should totally give your daughter’s meter some! I think mine looks like it has a mustache. 😀
